Babes Helpin’ Babes was founded by a group of creative women at Signal Theory, an ad agency with offices in Kansas City, Missouri, and Wichita, Kansas. In a male-dominated industry, they saw a need for a space that listened to and supported women, and in a matter of months, 30 members grew to over 60 active members.
Women’s salaries were evaluated and many were promoted into leadership positions. The parental leave policy was expanded and improved. Flexible work schedules were implemented. Once-taboo subjects became the topics of thoughtful, honest conversations. Employees were encouraged to discuss gender, sexuality and race and their effect on work, life and everything in between.

Abby is a creative and diversity consultant from Kansas City, MO. She started her career in advertising as an Art Director, but quickly realized that the workplace she loved was in need of serious changes.
There was not only a lack of women in leadership positions, but a severe and startling lack of Black, Indigenous and people of color (BIPOC) at every level. And nothing seemed to change because nobody talked about it.
Today she works to call out injustices, challenge the status quo and ensure that women and BIPOC are represented in the workplace.
WORK WITH ABBYWe started Babes Helpin’ Babes as a small creative group at a single agency.
